BANGKOK (Reuters) – Thailand recorded 11.95 million [foreign](https://startupobserver.com/uk-says-it-and-allies-blame-chinese-backed-actors-for-microsoft-hacking/) tourist arrivals from the January to April 28 period, its tourism ministry said on Tuesday.

Foreign tourism generated revenue of 575 [billion](https://startupobserver.com/munich-re-q1-net-profit-up-68-in-line-with-preliminary-figures/) baht ($15.52 billion) in that period, it said. Thailand is targeting about 40 million foreign visitors this year and the sector is a key driver of its economy.
