Global brand Semco Style launches its ground breaking organisational change programme for the first time in the UK

A ground breaking organisational change programme is launching for the first time in the UK having already achieved global success around the world. North West based Semco Style Institute (SSI UK) provides high-impact learning programmes that challenge outdated ways of working and flips traditional corporate hierarchy on its head.

Recent research by Gartner revealed that only 9% of workers feel actively engaged in the workplace and 33% of workers worry daily about their job.  SSI UK wants to change that by delivering accessible and creative training programmes that challenges some of the accepted norms of hierarchical management systems in person, virtually and via a series of events taking place across the UK over the coming months.

Barry McNeill, co-founder of Work Progressive, the UK licensed Country Partner for SSI, says: “The world of work has changed forever because of the pandemic. Employees are more careful about the organisations they want to work for. They want career progression, a good work life balance, responsibility and decent renumeration. People who don’t feel valued are ‘quiet quitting’ and eventually moving onto other organisations that better fulfil their needs.

“Employers need to move with the times. Many organisations in the UK are still operating with outdated systems and processes that are no longer fit for the new world of work. The future of work is more human-centred and agile.  At SSI UK, we are on a mission to change the world of work in this country and shape more progressive ways of working. We can show how self-management can deliver engaged employees and, in turn, positively impact overall business performance.”

SSI UK is part of a global movement that began over 40 years ago with the pioneering work of Ricardo Semler in Brazil. Semler transformed his company, Semco, into a self-managed organisation and gained international recognition for his ground-breaking approach to management. Those methodologies and practices are now available to individuals and organisations throughout the world through the Semco Style Institute. Global clients include Ten Pines in Argentina and De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) among others.

The programmes are delivered by an award-winning team of facilitators, transformation consultants, Agile project managers and coaches, and often include live case studies and internationally renowned guest speakers including Perry Timms, Ricardo Semler, Arko van Brakel and Eveline Hadewegg Scheffer.

Delivering transformational results to individuals, teams and organisations, SSI UK currently offers four solutions:

Changemaker Programme – aimed at entrepreneurs, directors, leaders and managers, the programme demonstrates how autonomy within teams can be stimulated to increase ownership and effectiveness and provides clarity on how to experiment further around self-organisation.

Enabling Hybrid Working – aimed at organisational, functional and team leaders looking for additional guidance to help navigate the complexity of leading hybrid teams, the programme will provide clarity on how to agree flexible working practices.

Agile Culture Essentials – aimed at leaders and coaches working through embedding Agile principles, the programme will provide practical strategies to prepare the whole organisation for a shift towards Agile practices and mindset.

Expert Certification Programme – aimed at change leaders, internal change consultants and independent consultants, the programme will enable cohorts to become certified Semco Style consultants and use the philosophy and practices to support transformation with clients or within an organisation.

The first programmes will be kicking off in the UK in Autumn 2022, with early bird discounts available. Information on the courses and dates are available at www.semcostyle.co.uk or email ShapingWork@semcostyle.co.uk.
